Women Students Meet 2018     

Women Students Meet was organized on 8th September, 2018 for the UG Students of both the shifts.  The theme was “Empowering Women Together”.  It was mainly conducted for the Welfare of the Women Students.   It was organized by the Deans of women of both the Shifts with the guidance and support rendered by our Rector , Rev. Dr. C. Antonyraj, our Principal, Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antonyraj, Our Additional Principal, Rev. Dr. K.A. Maria Arokiaraj and Vice Principal of Shift II, Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand.

The Inaugural Session started with a Prayer Song, sung by the students of Department of English students. Dr. A. Mekala, Dean of Women Students of Shift II delivered the welcome address.  The felicitation was done by our Rector, Rev. Dr. C. Antonyraj.  He was overwhelmed by the tremendous strength of Women Students in the College.  He recalled that when he was the Principal, the Women Students were admitted to the UG Courses for the first time.   He happily remembered those moments during his felicitation address.   He insisted the students to think differently and reach greater heights.

    The Chief Guest Mrs. Leema Peter, M.Sc., M.Phil., PGDRM, PGDCP, a Psychologist and a Student Counselor was introduced by Dr. A. Merceline Anita, Dean of Women Students of Shift I.  The chief guest delivered a talk on ‘Challenges Encountered by Women in the Post-modern Era’.  The talk was potential with high feminine capital values from social perspective.  She drew various evidences to make things clear.  She spoke on various psychological issues faced by women and the way to lead a happy and contented life by overcoming the barriers.  It was a thought provoking session for everyone.
 
Followed by the Chief Guest address , there was a Debate in Tamil for  Students which was organized by Dr. M. Sarala Devi from the  Dept. of Tamil.   The Topic was ‘Increasing Sexual Violences is due to the Effect of Social Media or the deterioration of Cultural Values’.  The Students actively participated and expressed their views.  Talents Exposure Competition was also conducted for Students.  The Women Students exhibited their varied talents and prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest to the Students, who have put in their best performances. Finally, the vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs.C. Dharma Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of BCA, which was followed by College Anthem.
