Event Details

All India Young Innovator Award Competition was organized by Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur on 28.02.2020. It showcased 95 discoveries by 275 students from the Arts and Sciences Colleges of India. In particular, Students from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry participated in the event. A team of specialists from Tamil Nadu visited the exhibited findings, evaluated the process and selected the top three innovations. They were given a certificate of appreciation and were awarded cash prizes. Arrangements were made on behalf of the Intellectual Property Rights Center of the College to obtain patent for the selected inventions.

Tirupattur District Collector, Mr. M.P. Sivanarul, inaugurated and addressed the gathering. He motivated the students to take part in such competitions. He said that, only with innovations, the society can progress.  The Principal, Rev. Dr. D Maria Antony Raj, Rev. Dr .C. Antonyraj, the Secretary presided over the function; the Vice-Principal of Shift-II, Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand, meticulously planned and coordinated the program.

Innovations on ensuring the safety of women, useful tools and technologies for the farmers, environment, health and hygiene were welcomed by the visitors. Of the 95 inventions that were on display, Sacred Heart College won the first three places for the best thought and innovation. The first place was given for the project titled Portable Electronic Mobile Charging, the second place was given for the project titled Soilless Medium for Rooftop Gardening and the third place was given for the project titled Degradable Sanitary Napkins. Those who received the first three places were awarded cash prizes with Citation Award.

A large number of college students, research scholars, farmers and self-help groups benefitted from the exhibited innovations.
