Event Details
In view of observing “Road Safety Month” the National Service Scheme (NSS) of Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur in association with Rathnas Lions Club of Tirupattur organized a bike rally from Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur to housing board signal, on 13th February 2021. The rally was flagged off jointly at 10.15 a.m. by Rev. Dr. John Alexander, Rector and Secretary, Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj , Principal, Mr. Thangavel DSP, Tirupattur, Rathnas Lions Club members Ln. Bhuvaneswari and Ln. P.R. Dhevarajan from Sacred Heart College Entrance.
Wearing helmet and raising placards containing slogans (such as “wear helmet save lives”, “respect traffic rules”, “moderate speed always good” “high speed kills”) of road safety, around 100 bikers from NSS and Media forum moved from Sacred Heart College very slowly passing through Tirupattur bus stand , Pudupettai road and reached housing board signal at 11.15 a.m. The students from Bharath Marshal Art Academy performed street play, mime, silabattam during the rally. Tirupattur town police escorted the rally and regulated the traffic.
The rally made a great impact on the general public of Tirupattur town, instilling awareness on road safety measures such us wearing helmet, following traffic rules, avoiding use of mobile on ride, avoiding drunken drive etc., The volunteers felt proud and happy to be part of this noble social cause of saving lives and minimizing accidents on roads.
The event was systematically coordinated by the NSS Programme Officers Dr. M. Antony Arockiasamy, Dr. U. Ramesh, Dr. B. Seenivasan , Media Forum President Dr. A. Royal Edward Williams and Ln. Kishore.
