Event Details

The patronal Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus was celebrated on 02nd September, 2022. The celebrations commenced with the blessings of the School of Social Sciences block by Most Rev. George Antonysamy, DD, Archbishop of Madras - Mylapore.  At 8.30 a.m. a solemn Eucharistic celebration was held in the Kamarajar Arangam. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by the Archbishop of Madras. The Salesian Community, the Catholic Staff and students took part in the prayer service. The Archbishop in his sermon, focused on the three aspects, the open heart, burning heart and sacrificing heart of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He highlighted the services offered by Sacred Heart College to Tirupattur district from the day of its inception. The college has been a boon to the rural people and it has continued to grow abiding by its mission to serve the needy. The Holy Eucharistic celebration was followed by the honouring of Most Rev. George Antonysamy, the Archbishop. Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antonyraj, the Principal, welcomed everyone to the celebration. Rev. Dr. John Alexander, the Rector and Secretary of the college, felicitated His Grace with a shawl and Rev Dr. K.A. Maria Arockiaraj, the Additional Principal, Shift II, presented a Picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

       This joyous moment was also marked by the birthday celebration of Rev. Dr. John Alexander; the releasing of the Sacred Heart Times News Letter (September Issue), a book published by Rev. Fr. Matthews, titled Well-Equipped for Life and a book by Mr. Sunil, of Life Education Department, titled kzjplk;NgR..

       At 5.30 p.m. in the Kamarajar Arangam, Rev. Fr. Sittarasu Kanickaraj, SDB, Rector and Parish Priest of St. Francis Xavier’s Church, Broadway, Chennai, was the animator for the Adoration and Car Procession. The Salesian community, the Catholic staff and students took part in the prayer service.
