Inauguration of Academic Year 2018-2019     

The college reopened for the academic year 2018-19 on 18/06/2018.  The new academic year commenced with the celebration of Eucharist solemnized by Rev. Fr. K. M.  Jose, Salesian Provincial, Chennai Province. The Holy mass was followed by the inauguration of the new hostel building for sports students, which was blessed by Rev. Fr. K. M.  Jose.

The students gathered in the Don Bosco Indoor stadium for the inaugural function at 10. a. m. Rev. Fr. Selvaraj, Assistant professor, Department of Counseling Psychology, began with a spiritual invocation, seeking the blessings of God to have a calm and serene academic year.

Rev. Dr. C.  Antonyraj, the Rector, Sacred Heart College, welcomed and felicitated the gathering. He introduced the Salesians who are to be a part of the college during this academic year 2018-19.

Rev. Dr. D.  Maria Antonyraj, the Principal of Sacred Heart College, introduced the office bearers of the college for this academic year. He inspired the students to work hard and move towards excellence.

It was followed by the release of College Journals and books. The Dean of Research, Dr. M. Jose,   released the journals. It was received by Rev. Fr. K. M. Jose, the Provincial, Chennai Province, Rev. Dr. C. Antonyraj, the Rector, Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antonyraj, the Principal, and Rev. Dr. K.A. Maria Arokiaraj, the Additional Principal.

Rev. Fr. K. M. Jose, Provincial, Chennai Province delivered the new academic year message.  He recalled the bliss of visiting Sacred Heart College. He comforted and encouraged the first year students to have a happy stay. He insisted the students to follow the four D's. i.e. Devotion, Desire, Determination, and Discipline.

The college rules and regulations were read out by Dr. A.  Albert Irudayaraj, Dean of Students Welfare.

The inauguration concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. D. Joy Christina, Assistant professor, Department of English.

A similar programme was conducted in Shift II which was followed by the blessings of the renovated chemistry Labs.
