Event Details

St. John Melchior Bosco often referred to as Don Bosco – meaning “Father Bosco” in Italian, was a man of bold courage. He was the instrument that God used to find a religious family dedicated not only to helping and educating the young and the disadvantaged but to journey with them towards heaven. He dedicated his life to the betterment and education of street children, juvenile delinquents, and other disadvantaged youth. He developed teaching methods based on love rather than punishment, a method that became known as the Salesian Preventive System. A follower of the spirituality and philosophy of Francis de Sales, Father Bosco founded the Salesians of Don Bosco, based in Turin.

On the feast of St. John Bosco, 31st January 2023, a Thanksgiving Eucharist was celebrated at 11:00 am in the College Chapel. The Rector, Rev. Dr. John Alex, the Principal, Rev. Dr. Maria Antony Raj, the Salesian community of the college, the catholic teaching and non-teaching staff, students and well-wishers, took part in the prayer service. After the prayer service, a party game was organized in the auditorium at 12.30 p.m. by Rev. Fr. S. Henry Daniel Ambrose, Director, Extension Education & Services and the Salesian Brothers. Gifts were given to the winners. Rev. Dr. John Alexander, the Rector and Secretary wished every one a happy feast and prayed for everyone. It was followed by a festive lunch at 1:00 pm. All the Salesians, teaching and non-teaching staff and the well-wishers participated in the delightful dinner.
