VCT coperative learning and education technology - International Certification

The 41st Graduation Day was held on 11th March 2017 with pomp and gaiety at the Don Bosco Indoor Stadium at Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur. The Principal, Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, SDB, welcomed everyone and gave a bird’s eye view of the achievements of the college during the academic Year 2016-2017.
The programme was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest - Professor Dr. B. Senthilkumar, Controller of Examinations (FAC), Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. He distributed certificates medals to the College toppers and awarded Graduates, Post Graduates and M.Phil Scholars with their respective degree. 1143 students across various streams, disciplines and specializations were awarded their degree.
Professor, Dr. B. Senthilkumar, appreciated the institution for imparting value-based education, he also under-scored that education refines an individual’s personality thereby producing socially sensitive, responsible and humane citizens. He highly commended the institution for its dedicated services to the student community. He emphasized the importance of Skill based learning and stated that language should not be seen as a barrier to achieve success.  In his Convocation Address, he stated that education should be seen as a stepping stone to character building and societal development. He stressed on higher education as the key to making available a large pool of skilled manpower for our nation and also to shape a student’s personality. He further stated that everything is moving fast in today’s society. Instant gratification is default setting in many minds. One of the most helpful qualities a person can have if he/she wants to grow is to be patient and develop a sense of tolerance. He also stressed that with patience, tolerance and persistence students can overcome pretty much anything.
Professor, Dr. B. Senthilkumar, emphasized that hard work and self-discipline are the keys to success. He noted that the only factor which lies between talent and success is hard work and planning. In his speech, he noted the life of                          Dr. Ida S. Scudder, Founder, CMC Vellore. who was a third-generation American medical missionary in India of the Reformed Church in America. He stated that she dedicated her life to the plight of Indian women and the fight against bubonic plague, cholera and leprosy. During her lifetime, she saw her medical center become one of the largest in all Asia through dedication, hard work, tolerance, patience and persistence.
He concluded, by stating the importance of inculcating values and respect. “Respecting people implies acknowledgement of their existence and is a way of being good and kind to others”. He urged students to respect their teachers/professors, parents and institution. He also stressed that the students must equip themselves with adequate skills and knowledge to face challenges and to excel in their career.
The dignitaries on the dais also included the Secretary, Rev. Dr. C. Antony Raj, SDB, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, Dr. C. Dhandapani, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Economics, Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. and members of the fraternity of Sacred Heart College, Additional Principal, Rev. Fr.Maria Arokiaraj, SDB, Vice Principal, (Shift I)/COE, Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, Vice Principal, (Shift II), Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand, SDB. Heads of Various Departments, Administrative Staff, Parents and Students.
