Mr. R. Murali attended Orientation Course for 10 days and Refresher Course for 5 days in NSS. He is therefore, a trained NSS Programme officer.

Salient Activities
NSS in collaboration with Lion’s Club Tirupattur conducted Blood Donation camps twice one in 2003 and another in 2004.
NSS volunteers desilted and deepened Chinnakulam tank in 2203. Minister for Rural Industries, Tamilnadu Hon. R. Vadivelu visited the workspot and highly commended the selfless service of the volunteers.
NSS of our college rendered computer literacy to rural students of Pachal, Chinna Mookanur and Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Nagar in union with Rotary Club, Tirupattur. 500 rural students received this literacy. The programme was offered for ten days in the year 2003- 2004.
The volunteers of our NSS units had desilted and deepened the tanks of Puliyan kuttai and Pachal Villages in 2003 and 2004 respectively. They also created awareness among the rural people on Rain Water Harvesting.
NSS had laid new roads of mud for a distance of two kilometers in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar and another two kilometers of road in Thamaleri Muthur in 2004. The village presidents estimated the worth of work Rs. 2,50,000.
Voluntary Blood Donation Club has been functioning since 10 th January 2001. Every year nearly 150 units of Blood are donated to Government hospital and to the poorest of the poor who approach us during dire need.
NSS of Sacred Heart College has been rendering service to the people of Tirupattur and to the surrounding Villages in Collaboration with Lion’s Club, Rotary Club, Health Department, Forest Department, B.D.O. and Tirupattur Municipality.
Additions
A consumer Club was founded in 2004. It is an offspring of NSS. The Club has been creating awareness on Consumer Protection and Consumer Rights through seminar, workshops and talks.
A Red Ribbon Club was established in 2005. The main goal of this Club is to create awareness on the prevention of AIDS/HIV and STD.
Regular Activities
NSS of Sacred Heart College has been creating awareness on the following topics in its adopted villages and in the slums of Tirupattur for the past five years.

Self – Esteem, Stress Management, Time Management, Career Guidance and Leadership skills. The volunteers also these seminars and the talks exclusively designed for them.
NSS units involve in cleaning the campus and in decorating the college premises during function like College Day, Sports Day and Convocation Day.
