The College Management, NCC Officer, NCC Cadets, Staff Members, Administrative Staff and Students celebrated the 71st Independence Day on August 15, 2017 with pomp and colour at Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. It was a day to pay respect to our saviours because of whom we are breathing an air of freedom. The Day was celebrated as the Sankalp Parva (Day of Resolve).
The NCC Pilots received the Chief Guest and Dignitaries. The Cadet Under Officers performed the Sword Drill. The Rev. Fr. Principal Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj introduced the Chief Guest Mr. S. Vincent, Office Assistant and welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest hoisted the National Flag on the college main ground and accepted the guard of honour given by the NCC Cadets. It was a very fitting tribute for one of the long standing co-worker of the college.

Jean Noel Charmoille, SDB, Provincial Delegate, Higher Education, France, and Mr. Daniel Gouilly, Principal, Institute Lemmonnier, Caen, France, were the special guests for the occasion.  Rev. Dr. D. The NCC Officer Mr. K. Sivakumar organized the function. He led the gathering to take pledge on the occasion of “Quit India Movement Anniversary”.
