The PG and Research Department of Economics (Shift I) organized ECONFEST 2022 on 26^th, April 2022. Rev. Dr.  John Alexandar SDB, Rector and Secretary inaugurated the function. In his inaugural address the students were advised to be proactive agents of change and not to become patients. Rev Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj SDB, Principal delivered the presidential address. He asked the students to update and upgrade themselves on the current technological advancements. M. Santhosh Kumar, II MA Economics introduced the chief guest to the audience. The chief guest of the day was Dr. A. Duraisamy, Professor and Dean, College of Science and Humanities SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chengalpattu District. In his keynote address Dr. A. Duraisamy initially shared his experience about Dr. PV. Srinivasan an alumni of Sacred Heart College(A) who happened to be his student and at present working in NCERT, New Delhi and how he excelled in his career. He highlighted the relevance of Economics in the society especially in job market and research activities.

Events like: elocution, paper presentation, poster presentation, debate, quiz competition were conducted. During the valedictory session Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB delivered the valedictory address and distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions. Islamiah College (Autonomous), Vaniyambadi won the overall championship and a rolling trophy was given to them. Students from Islamiah College for Men (Autonomous), Vaniayambadi, Mazoor Uloom College (Autonomous), Ambur and Muthurangam Government Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Vellore attended the event.
