The Department of Extension Education and services in collaboration with Integrated Village Development Project (IVDP) organised the IVDP Koselay Memorial Scholarship Program on January 6, 2024, at Mother Theresa Hall in Scared Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. This initiative, generously sponsored by Raman Magsaysay Mr. Kulandai Francis, the Founder and President of IVDP, aimed to support orphan and semi-orphan students in their pursuit of education. The event began with a soulful prayer song by Prof. Henston and team from the Department of English, setting a positive and uplifting tone. Rev. Dr. D. Shanmugam SDB, the Director of the Department of Extension Education and Services, welcomed the attendees, providing a warm and inclusive atmosphere. The message from Rev. Dr. K. A. Maria Arockiaraj SDB, Additional Principal of Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, added a scholarly perspective to the occasion. His words of wisdom and encouragement resonated with the audience, emphasizing the importance of education and support for orphan and semi-orphan students.
The highlight of the program was the Chief Guest Message and Scholarship Distribution by Raman Magsaysay Mr. Kulandai Francis. His dedication to the empowerment of the poor and his commitment to making a difference in their lives were evident in his inspiring words. The distribution of scholarships marked a significant moment, symbolizing hope and opportunity for the deserving students. 142 students were received the orphan and semi-orphan scholarships. The Students and Parents feedback session provided a platform for gratitude and acknowledgment, showcasing the impact of the scholarship program on the recipients' lives. It was a poignant reminder of the positive change that can be brought about through initiatives like the IVDP Koselay Memorial Scholarship. As the event concluded, Prof. Swathi from the Department of Computer Applications proposed the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all participants and emphasizing the collective effort in achieving the program's success.
