The Department of Economics organized its annual event Econ Fest 2024 on 19^th February 2024 at Carreno Hall. The chief guest for the inaugural function was Dr. D. Leslin, Associate Professor and Head Department of History, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. The Chief Guest was honoured by Dr. A. Xavier Susairaj PG Head. During the chief guest address the speaker compared the Gujarat model with that of Dravadian model. He laid his attention on the inappropriateness of these models in India.

Dr. U. Ramesh was the moderated for the elocution competition. Two parallel sessions of paper presentation were moderated by   Dr. A. Royal Edward Williams and poster presentation was moderated by Mr. S. John Sundar. Students from Sacred Heart College and from other colleges participated in these events and won prizes accordingly.

During the afternoon session a Debate was hosted by the organizers and this was coordinated by Dr. R. Kurinji Malar. Two teams were divided equally and were asked to speak for and against the given topic. Hot discussions were exchanged during the event and finally the result was in favor of the team who spoke against the topic. Finally the last competition of the day was Quiz Competition and it was conducted by Dr. S. Siva Gurunathan.

The valedictory event started at 3.45 p.m. in which Dr. A. Albert Irudhayaraj, Vice Principal (Student Affairs), Associate Professor and Head, Department of Physics was the chief guest. During the valedictory address the chief guest portrayed the importance of education and how this college has elevated him to reach this level. Finally the Econ Fest 2024 concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. V. Keerthiga of I BA Economics. The overall championship was won by Loyola College, Chennai. The event was coordinated by Dr. J. Jacob Stanley Inbaraj the Association President.
