The Micro Enterprises Development Programme on Embroidery and Aari Work was launched on 19th February 2024 at the DEEDS premises in Tirupattur. The 15-day initiative was sponsored by NABARD and implemented in association with the Department of Extension Education and Services Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), aiming to empower and skill the participants in the fields of embroidery and Aari work.
The programme commenced with a Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address from Mr. Loganathan, the Regional Manager of NABFINS Krishnagiri. The event proceeded with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the beginning of the programme.
Mr. S. Praveen Babu, DDM of NABARD Salem Cluster office, outlined the primary objectives of the programme, focusing on skill development, entrepreneurship, and economic growth for the participants. The programme received further support from esteemed dignitaries, including Mr. Udayan, DGM of NABFINS Bangalore, Mr. Amarnath Mani, AGM of NABFINS Bangalore, and Rev. Dr. Shanmugam, Director of DEEDS. Each of these dignitaries delivered their respective addresses, emphasizing the importance of the programme and the role it plays in empowering the community through skill development and financial inclusion.
Rev. Dr. Shanmugam, the Director of DEEDS, felicitated the guests and participants for their contribution to the programme. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Mr. S. Gurupatham, the Branch Head of NABFINS Vellore, expressing gratitude to all involved in making the programme a success.
