Event Details

Sacred Heart College commenced its academic year 2024-2025 with an inaugural ceremony themed "Equipped for Excellence," inspired by the verse from Timothy 3:17, which states, "The Servant of God may be fully capable and ready for every good work."

The event, held at Kamarajar Arangam, began at 10:15 a.m. with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. A heartfelt prayer service led by Rev. Dr. S. Bharathi Bernadsha, SDB, Campus Minister, invoked blessings for the new academic year.

Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, Rector and Secretary, warmly welcomed the students and introduced the Salesians, highlighting their roles and contributions to the college's mission. Following this, Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, SDB, Principal, presented the office bearers for the academic year 2024-2025, outlining their responsibilities. It was followed by the release of the college's journals and books published by the faculty. This emphasized the institution's dedication to academic research and scholarly achievements.

Rev. Fr. Don Bosco Lourdusamy, SDB, Provincial and Chairman, delivered an inspiring message for the new academic year, encouraging students and faculty to strive for excellence and to be prepared for every good work.

Dr. T. Jeyabalan, Dean of Students, and Dr. K. Parthibaraja, Head of the Department of Tamil, read the college rules and regulations, ensuring that all students are informed of the standards and expectations.

Mr. N. Arul Doss, Head of the Department of English, expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the event. His vote of thanks acknowledged the efforts of everyone involved in making the inauguration a success. The ceremony concluded with the College Anthem.
