The Orientation Programme to sensitize the II UG students involved in OUTREACH activities for the Academic Year 2024-25 was organized on 04.07.2024 at Kamarajar Arangam, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. The event was organized separately for both the students of Shift I and II in the forenoon and afternoon. The inaugural session was followed by Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB the Rector and Secretary of SHC who presided over the programme and delivered the Inaugural Address mentioning the importance of education and extension by sharing his experience. He emphasized that the extension activities have its own importance in linking the higher education with needs in the neighborhood communities. Rev. Dr. Shanmugan, SDB Director, OUTREACH felicitated the students to learn to be generous and give something to the society in terms of love, care, education, finance and plantation to uplift the poor. Dr. K. Arokiaraj, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Social Work oriented the students by emphasizing the purpose of outreach programme and the expected outcome of the field visit. Students along with their class discussed the action plan for the field visit. About 600 students attended the orientation programme.
