The English Language Association, Department of English, organized an insightful webinar titled “Exploring Creative Methods for Learning Grammar Effectively in the Age of AI.” This event aimed to delve into innovative strategies for teaching and learning grammar, using artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the educational experience. The Resource person was Dr. V. L.  Jayapaul, Associate Professor and Head, Department of English, St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli.

Professor N. Aruldoss, Head of the Department of English, welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person.  Dr. V. L. Jayapaul, a distinguished academic with extensive expertise in English language education, led the session. He brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the discussion.  Dr. Jayapaul began with an introduction to the role of AI in modern education, highlighting its potential to revolutionize traditional teaching methods. He emphasized the importance of integrating AI tools to create more engaging and effective learning environments.

The webinar explored various creative methods for teaching grammar, including interactive digital platforms, gamification, and personalized learning experiences.   Participants were introduced to a range of AI-powered tools and  web resources designed to assist both educators and students. These included AI-driven grammar checkers, interactive language learning apps, and virtual tutoring systems.

The session also addressed the challenges associated with incorporating AI in education, such as technological barriers and the need for teacher training. Dr. Jayapaul provided solutions and strategies to overcome these obstacles, ensuring a smooth transition to AI-enhanced learning.  

The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with Dr. Jayapaul. This segment provided valuable insights and fostered a collaborative learning atmosphere. The webinar concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks.
