The 74th Annual Sports Meet at Sacred Heart College was held on July 27, 2024, on the college grounds at 8:30 a.m. The event began with a prayer song seeking blessings for the day. Principal Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj welcomed everyone and honoured the distinguished guests. The chief guest unfurled the national flag, followed by the students showcasing their discipline and coordination in a spirited march past. The lighting of the Olympic torch symbolized the enduring human spirit and pursuit of excellence. The athletes then took an oath to uphold the values of fair play and integrity. Dr. J. Senthil Velmurugan, Registrar of Thiruvalluvar University, delivered an inspiring address and declared the 74th sports meet open. Thiru. Albert John IPS, Superintendent of Police, Tirupattur, provided further encouragement with his speech and later participated in the prize distribution, celebrating the hard work and achievements of all participants. The day featured a variety of sports activities and competitions for both staff and students, coordinated by the Physical Director, Dr. Bento Devaraj. The Overall championship for Shift I was won by the Department of Commerce, and the Overall championship for Shift II was won by the Department of History. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. A. Bento Devaraj, expressing gratitude to everyone involved. The ceremony ended with the national anthem.
