On August 13, 2024, the PG and Research Department of Commerce (Shift-II) hosted an Invited Talk on the Securities Market and Depository System. The event aimed to deepen students' understanding of financial markets, with a particular focus on investment avenues, demat and trading accounts and related concepts. The session was led by the distinguished resource person Mr. S N Jayabalan, Central Depository Services Limited. He shared his knowledge about the securities market. The talk covered the importance savings habit, how investment differs from savings, primary market, secondary market, mutual fund, SEBI guidelines and others.  The resource person offered practical insights into risk management, and investment strategies, enriching the students’ theoretical and practical understanding. During the event, students engaged actively with the resource person.The resource person also encouraged students to answer questions, fostering a participatory learning environment. About 170 students attended the event.
