The P.G Department of Social Work (HRM) at Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, organized a One Week Virtual Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme "AI in Teaching and Learning" from 30^th September, 2024 to 4th October 2024. The event aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of educators in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching practices. The resource person for the FDP was Dr. Vimal Jerald, MCA(NET)., MBA., M.Phil., PGDBI., PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. Dr. Vimal Jerald is an expert in AI and its application in the field of education and learning, making him the ideal guide for this faculty development session.

Each day of the five-day event covered specific topics as outlined below:

Enhancing Smartness Using AI : The session introduced the concept of smart technologies powered by AI, discussing how AI can be used to optimize personal productivity and teaching effectiveness. Impactful Presentations through AI : The participants learned about tools and techniques to make presentations more engaging and dynamic using AI-driven platforms and software. AI Tools for Effective Assessments : The third session emphasized using AI tools to create better, more insightful assessments for students, enabling data-driven feedback. Mobile AI Tools for Smart Learning : On this day, mobile-friendly AI applications and their use in enhancing student engagement were demonstrated, focusing on easy-to-use tools accessible through mobile devices. Redefining Creativity with AI-Driven Multimedia Content : The final session revolved around AI-powered multimedia tools that can assist in content creation, making teaching materials more creative, interactive, and visually appealing.

The event was conducted under the guidance of the patron Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter SDB, Rector & Secretary, Rev. Dr. Maria Antonyraj SDB, Principal of Sacred Heart College and Dr.Lisa Head of the department. The team of organizing secretaries included Prof. Selvanathan, Rev. Dr. Shanmugam SDB, Prof. Sebastian, and Prof. Arun Balaji. The FDP provided an excellent opportunity for educators to embrace AI technology in their teaching methodologies, aiming to create more engaging and effective learning environments. E-Certificate was distributed to all the participants.
