The PG & Research Department of Management Studies at Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, successfully organized a “Campus to Corporate Training” program focusing on personal development through The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey on September 25, 2024. The event was attended by final-year undergraduate students from various arts and science colleges in the region, aiming to prepare them for the transition from academia to the corporate world.

The training program was inaugurated by Dr. S. Sasikumar, Head of the MBA Department, in the presence of the esteemed faculty members. In his opening remarks, Dr. S. Sasikumar emphasized the importance of goal-setting in personal and professional life. He also led a comprehensive session on effective goal-setting techniques, guiding students to align their personal values with career ambitions.

Prof. G. Lawrence, Corporate Trainer and Organizing Secretary of the event, conducted the central session, focusing on grooming oneself through Covey’s Seven Habits, a widely acclaimed framework for personal effectiveness. His session also included vital corporate readiness topics such as group discussion and interview skills, designed to enhance the employability of the students.

The training was further enriched by the support of Dr. R. Alexzander and Prof. R. Durgavathi, who conducted mock group discussions to give students hands-on experience in a corporate-like setting. This collaborative approach enabled participants to gain practical skills, refine their communication abilities, and boost their confidence for real-world corporate environments.
