The Constitution Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 26th November by Shift-II of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. The programme highlighted the significance of the Indian Constitution and the pivotal role played by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in its framing. The event began with the rendition of Tamil Thai Vazhthu, marking a respectful and auspicious start. Rev. Dr. Shanmugam, Vice-Principal (Admin), served as the Master of Ceremony and delivered the introduction and welcome address. He warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty, and students, emphasizing the importance of this day in acknowledging the foundational principles of democracy and justice in India.
The dynamics of the day were presented by Rev. Dr. K.A. Maria Arokiaraj, Additional Principal, who provided insightful reflections on the relevance of the Constitution in modern India. This was followed by an enlightening talk on “The Role of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Making of the Indian Constitution”, delivered by Dr. Harikrishnan, Assistant Professor, Department of History. His speech shed light on the visionary leadership and intellectual contributions of Dr. Ambedkar in drafting the Constitution, inspiring the audience with a deeper understanding of its legacy. The event concluded with an oath-taking ceremony, administered by Mr. Balu Prasad, Assistant Professor, Department of History, instilling a sense of responsibility and commitment among the attendees to uphold constitutional values.
