The Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, celebrated the Silver Jubilee of the Priestly Ordination of Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, and Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, SDB, in a grand and spiritually uplifting event on December 7, 2024. The celebrations began with a solemn procession from the Sacred Heart College Gate to Kamarajar Arangam at 9:30 a.m., where the jubilarians were accompanied by their family members and well-wishers. It was followed by the Holy Eucharist at 10:00 a.m., presided over by the jubilarians and their companions, providing a moment of deep spiritual reflection and thanksgiving.
The felicitation program commenced at 11:45 a.m. in Kamarajar Arangam, starting with a vibrant dance performance by the students of Shift II. Rev. Dr. K.A. Maria Arokiaraj, SDB, Additional Principal, extended a warm welcome and felicitations. The journey and contributions of Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, were highlighted through a video presentation, followed by heartfelt tributes from Dr. K. Parthibaraja, on behalf of the staff and students, and Ms. Punitharaj, representing the family. Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, graciously responded to these tributes with gratitude and humility.
Similarly Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, SDB, was honoured with a video presentation on his life and ministry. Felicitations were offered by Dr. K. Parthibaraja and Ms. Pramila Thomas, representing the staff, students, and family, respectively. In his response, Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, SDB, expressed his heartfelt thanks for the love and support extended to him. The students from Shift I concluded the program with an energetic dance performance, adding a celebratory note.
Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand, SDB, Vice Principal of Shift-I, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging everyone who contributed to the success of the event. The program concluded with a hymn to Mother Mary, sung by the college choir, adding a devotional touch to the occasion. A fellowship meal followed, bringing together students, faculty members, non-teaching staff, well-wishers, friends, and family members of the jubilarians, fostering a spirit of togetherness and joy in celebrating the event.
