The Department of English, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur has signed a MoU with the Salesian Chennai Province. Basing on the MoU, a SIX Days of Intensive English Language Training Programme was organised at Don Bosco Polytechnic College, Thirukalukundram. It is to train the Students of Don Bosco Polytechnic College from the various districts of Tamil Nadu in English Language and Communication Skills. Three Faculty members from the Department of English Mr. A. Peter Conisicious Prabhu, Mr. U. Kamesh and Ms. R. Edithmelody trained the students in the LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) skills. The classes were conducted from 2^nd December 2024 to 7^th December 2024 (6 days) as a residential programme.  On 2^nd December, the first day of the programme began with a diagnostic test, to identify the level of the students’ proficiency in English language. The following day situational and functional dialogues were used to improve the speaking skill. Vocabularies of various category and frequently used sentences in college were used to improve the reading skill.  Linguaphone classes were used to improve the listening skill. Basic grammar was taught to bring accuracy in writing skill.  Also, vocabularies related to daily routine and home chores were taught to them to improve their speaking skill. Mobile applications related to the LSRW skill were introduced to the students to making them autonomous and lifelong learners of English. The programme was well-appreciated.
