The Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute (EDII - Tamil Nadu) conducted Hackathon 2024 for the college students, including Engineering colleges. The team from the Department of Microbiology, Sacred Heart College has achieved an impressive 18^th position in the State Level Hackathon organized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. About 9,000 teams participated in the state-level event, with 60 teams qualified for the finals. Out of the 60 teams, only 3 colleges were Arts and Science Colleges. The college team has achieved an impressive 18^th position in the event. The prize distribution ceremony was held at Anna University, Chennai on 11^th November, 2024, the Honourable Minister of MSME, Mr. T. M. Anbarasan distributed the Cash Prize Rs. 25,000 to the Prize Winners. On 18^th November, Mr. Tharpagaraj, District Collector appreciated the students for their achievement. The Prize winners are: Ms. K. Gayathri, II M.Sc Microbiology, Ms. L. Charlie Jelura, I M.Sc Microbiology, Ms. N. Usha, I M.Sc Microbiology, Ms. S. Monisa, II B.Sc Microbiology and Ms. S. Sadiya Surror, II B.Sc Microbiology. Dr. P. Saranraj, Head, Dept. of Microbiology mentored the students.
