The PG and Research Department of English (Shift-II), Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, in collaboration with Thiruvalluvar University, organized the National Workshop titled Disability Literature – Awareness and Sensitivity on 14^th December, 2024 at Pope Francis Hall. Dr. Banibrata Mahanta, Professor of English at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India, was the resource person. The event commenced with a prayer song. Dr. Kathiresan Balasubramanian, Dean and Professor at Thiruvalluvar University, introduced the resource person. He highlighted Dr. Mahanta's academic achievements, his notable contributions to journals and publications, and his remarkable work, particularly in the field of Disability Literature. Rev. Dr. Maria Arokiaraj K. A. SDB, Additional Principal, and Dr. Mary Jenif, Head, UG Department of English and the organising secretary felicitated and honoured the resource person. Prof. Peter Conisious Prabhu and Prof. Louis Sahaya Hentson felicitated and honored Dr. Kathiresan for his contributions. Dr. Banibrata Mahanta delivered an insightful talk on Disability Awareness and Sensitization. The session was highly interactive, with participants engaging actively in discussions. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. R. Rekha, Asst. Prof, Dept. of English.
