The Five Days Virtual Faculty Development Programme on Global Scenario and Future Prospects in Life Sciences was organized by the PG & Research Department of Biochemistry, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, between 9th and 13th December, 2024 through the ZOOM platform. The program commenced with an Inauguration and Overview Session by Dr. A. Jayaprakash, Assistant Professor and Head (PG), setting the stage for the enriching sessions that followed. Moderated effectively by Dr. K. Sheela and Mrs. J. Reshma, the FDP comprised five technical sessions, each delivered by renowned resource persons. On Day 1, Dr. I. Niyas Ahamed, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Biochemistry introduced the resource person Dr. Ashok Kumar, Associate Professor, B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai, he discussed on the topic “Harnessing Nature: Remedies for Ulcerative Colitis” highlighting natural therapeutic approaches. On Day 2, Dr. A. Poongothai, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Biochemistry introduced the resource person Dr. D. Mukesh Kumar, Associate Professor, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, who addressed Funding Opportunities and Strategies for Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programs, emphasizing the need for innovation and skill alignment. On Day 3, Dr. G. Sivaelango, Assistant Professor. Dept. of Biochemistry introduced the resource person Dr. Marie Arockianathan, Associate Professor & Head, St. Joseph's College, Cuddalore, who delivered an insightful session on Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, exploring biomaterial advancements. On Day 4 Dr. V. Gopalakrishnan, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Biochemistry introduced the resource person Dr. M. Kumar, Assistant Professor, Madras Christian College, who discussed Microbes that Changed the World and their transformative role in healthcare, biotechnology, and sustainability. On Day 5, Dr. S. Govindarajan, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Biochemistry introduced the resource person Dr. F. Andrea Mary, Assistant Professor, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education & Research, who elaborated on Molecular Advances in Gynaecology Malignancy, focusing on biomarkers and emerging therapies. The FDP concluded with a Summary and Vote of Thanks by Dr. M. Fernandus Durai, Assistant Professor & UG Head, who commended the organizers, participants, and resource persons for their contributions. This program successfully provided a platform for academic enrichment, fostering research interests, and exploring future prospects in life sciences, with 150 participants from various institutions gaining valuable insights through interactive and engaging sessions.
