The Women Cell of Shift I conducted a programme for the final year UG Girls on "Enlightening Leadership Skills for Women Entrepreneurs". It was held on 24th of January, 2025 in Kamarajar Arangam at 3:00 PM. The event began with a soulful prayer song by Dr. D. Joy Christina and her team, setting a serene tone for the proceedings. Following this, Ms. M. Vintha from 3rd year Biochemistry delivered the welcome speech, warmly greeting the gathering. Dr. D. Joy Christina introduced the resource person, highlighting her contributions and expertise in the field. The felicitation ceremony was graced by Rev.Fr. J. Andrews Raja who shared his inspiring words and stressed that Girls should be physically strong and a physically strong woman may feel more empowered to take on leadership roles and assert herself in various situations. A significant highlight of the program was a video presentation on women empowerment by Ms. Dr. R. Kurinji Malar and her team. The visual presentation emphasized the role of women in leadership and entrepreneurial ventures, motivating the students to aspire for greater achievements. The chief guest, Rev. Dr. Sr. Elizabeth Sebastian, Mother Superior of Mazzarello Home, Tirupattur, delivered a powerful speech. She emphasized the importance of self-discipline, self-worth, and setting clear goals for success. Her session included a motivational video and an insightful discussion on shape-psychology, offering practical strategies for personal and professional growth.
At the end of this programme, the girl students were also imparted some special awareness on menstrual hygiene by Dr. Franklin Vijay Kumar from the Government Hospital. He highlighted the critical need of the hygienic disposal of sanitary pads. His team, comprising Mrs. Kasthuri, Ms. Longanayagi, and Mr. Mohan Doss, introduced eco-friendly sanitary pads made of pure cotton, emphasizing the health benefits. The practical demonstration and detailed explanations were well-received by the audience. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ms. G. Haripriya from 3rd BA Economics. The program was seamlessly coordinated by Ms.Vanathi from 3rd Biochemistry.
