The Department of Zoology organized a One-Day Workshop titled "Virtual Illustration for Technological Anatomy" (VITA-2025) on January 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium. Rev. Dr. K. A. Maria Arokiaraj, Additional Principal (Shift II), inaugurated the program with his inaugural address.
Dr. A. Vinothkannan, Organizing Secretary, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed chief guest, resource persons, and all participants. Dr. A. Jayaprakash, Convenor and Head of the Department of Zoology, and Dr. S. Karthick, Co-Organizing Secretary and Assistant Professor of Zoology, introduced the esteemed resource persons. Around 85 students benefited from VITA-2025. The first session focused on demonstration of Digital Illustration for Anatomical Studies, by Dr. K. Kannan, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Science
& Nutrition, The American College, Madurai. The second session explored Alternatives for Animal Dissection, with a demonstration of 3D models by Mr. M. Sabareesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, Ultra Arts and Science College, Madurai.
Rev. Dr. D. Shanmugam, Vice Principal (Administration - Shift II), delivered the valedictory address and presented certificates of appreciation to all participants. Mr. Gokulnath and
V. S. Mahamedha from II B.Sc., Zoology, served as masters of ceremony. During the valedictory program, S. Kamali delivered the welcome address, and S. Shanmugapriya from I B.Sc., Zoology, proposed the vote of thanks.
