Event Details
The "Carnival of Kindness" at Sacred Heart College, held from November 25th to December 19th, 2024, was much more than just an event—it became a campus-wide movement that brought the entire community together in the spirit of kindness and generosity. Under the guidance of the MSW (HRM) faculty and the first-year MSW (HRM) students, the planning team worked diligently to ensure the event’s success. The initiative was thoughtfully organized, with the team dividing responsibilities into specialized groups handling planning, execution, design, and promotion. This collaborative effort turned the event into a vibrant and meaningful celebration of giving.
The team actively visited various classes and departments, not only to share details about the event but also to emphasize its deeper purpose. This outreach inspired students, faculty, and staff to donate new or gently used clothes and stationery. Each contribution carried a story of its own, and together, they transformed the Indoor Stadium into a lively and colorful symbol of generosity.
More importantly, the "Carnival of Kindness" went beyond collecting material donations. It became a platform to spread the message that kindness is not a one-time action but a continuous practice that shapes our everyday lives. The event left a profound impact, inspiring everyone to embrace kindness as an integral part of their personal and social interactions.
The clothes were placed in the Indoor Stadium for three days, from January 20th to January 22nd, for the benefit of the needy people to take clothes. This thoughtful gesture ensured that the event directly benefited the community while promoting a spirit of sharing and inclusivity. The open display of donations allowed individuals to select items they genuinely needed, making the experience personal and meaningful.
The event’s final act took place on January 23rd, 2025, when the remaining donations were distributed to the gypsy community in Pachal village, located in Tirupattur district. A team of eight trainees, accompanied by staff coordinators Mr. Sebastian and Mr. Arun Balaji, visited the village to deliver the contributions.
