On January 21, 2025, a highly informative and engaging Webinar on "Computer Networks" was conducted virtually by the Department of Computer Science (Shift I & II). The event was funded by the ACM India Council. The resource person for the webinar was Dr. R. Venkateswaran, a member of the ACM India Council and a Professor at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. The webinar began with a warm welcome, followed by a brief introduction of Dr. R. Venkateswaran. The session lasted from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and had a total participation of 103 final-year B.Sc. Computer Science students, with 51 from Shift I and 52 from Shift II. The webinar provided a broad overview of topics including the data link layer, network topology (BUS), CSMA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access), CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection), the CSMA/CD algorithm, and LAN implementation using bridges, with real-time examples. Participants were encouraged to actively engage throughout the session and ask questions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
