The PG Association of Biochemistry organized an Invited Talk on “ROS: Exploring their Dynamic Roles in the Current Era” on 25.02.2025 through Google meet at 2.30 pm. Dr. K. Sheela, PG Association President welcomed the gathering. Mr.S. Ahzambasha introduced the resource person with his warm words. Dr. A. Jayaprakash, PG Head felicitated the resource person Dr. Srivalli Thimmarayan, Researcher, Jeonbuk National University, South Korea. The resource person, Dr.Srivalli Thimmarayanin highlighted the evolving significance of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) in various scientific fields. The talk also highlighted the significance of ROS, emphasizing their essential role in cellular signalling, immune responses, and physiological regulation. She addressed on the harmful effects of oxidative stress leading to aging, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. The session concluded with a strong emphasis on the recent advancements in ROS-targeted therapies, antioxidants, and biomedical applications, along with their impact on environmental sciences. Students interacted with the resource person and clarified their doubts. Ms. M. Madhumitha, II PG proposed the vote of thanks. The Master of Ceremony was done by Mr. V.Nandhakumar of I PG. Overall the programme benefitted the students and it was a great success.
