The Grand Children’s Sports Day was successfully organized by the PG Department of Social Work (HRM), Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, as part of a departmental social responsibility initiative. The event took place on 28th February 2025 at R.C.M. Middle School, Kovilur – Pudukottai, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The sports day was exclusively conducted for students from Class 1 to Class 8, with various competitions aimed at promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among children.

The valedictory function commenced with a prayer song, setting a solemn and grateful tone for the event. This was followed by a welcome speech delivered by Ilayan Gandhi, the Headmaster, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, participants, and faculty members. The Valediction Address was given by Rev. Dr. Shanmugam, Vice-Principal (Admin) Shift-II & Assistant Professor, MSW (HRM), who emphasized potentiality of every individual. The much-anticipated prize distribution ceremony then took place, where winners of various sports events were honoured with prizes. Additionally, all participating students received complimentary prizes as a token of encouragement and appreciation.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Fr. Britto, expressing gratitude to the sponsors, organizers, and school faculty for their contributions to the success of the event. The sports day was sponsored by Mr. J. Sangith and Family (USA) and coordinated efficiently by Rev. Fr. A. Britto, ensuring a well-organized and joyous celebration for the children. The event concluded with a sumptuous meal served to all students, making the day even more memorable. The faculties and students of Social Work (HRM) played a crucial role in organizing and executing the event, fostering a spirit of community engagement and social responsibility.
