The Department of Extension Education and Services (DEEDS), Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) in Tirupattur, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Tirupattur and Tirupattur Town, successfully hosted a vibrant celebration for International Women's Day on March 8, 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, staff, and community members. The program commenced with a soulful invocation by Mr. Arnold & team. from the Department of English, followed by a warm welcome address by Ms. Parameshwari from the Self-Help Group (SHG) Staff. Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter SDB, Rector and Secretary of the College, delivered a felicitation address highlighting the importance of recognizing and empowering women.

Adding a cultural vibrancy to the event, students of Sacred Heart College presented a melodious song and captivating dance performances, receiving thunderous applause from the audience. The keynote address, delivered by Nallasiriyar Rtn.PHF. A. Kalaivani, provided inspiring insights and perspectives on women's roles and achievements in contemporary society.

Rev. Dr. Maria Antony Raj SDB, Principal of Sacred Heart College, and Rev. Dr. Shanmugam SDB, Director of DEEDS, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the college's commitment to promoting gender equality and women's empowerment. Rev. Dr. Shanmugam SDB further presented prizes to individuals recognized for their contributions towards women's upliftment. Mr. ArulDass, Family Counsellor, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for their contributions to the success of the event. Ms. Kavitha, also from the SHG Staff, served as the gracious host, ensuring a seamless flow of the program.
