An Outreach Orientation Programme for the faculty members of Shift-I and Shift-II was organized on 30th June 2025 at the Presentation Hall, Department of Extension Education and Services (DB Centre), Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. The session was aimed at familiarizing the teaching faculty with the objectives, scope, and implementation strategy of the Outreach Programme for the academic year. Dr. Shanmugam, Director of the Outreach Programme, led the session and enumerated the various outreach activities that the students will undertake in the adopted villages. He highlighted the importance of community engagement and elaborated on activities such as educational support to children, awareness drives on health and hygiene, environmental protection campaigns, socio-economic surveys, and other student-led initiatives aimed at rural development.

The Director also explained the nuances of the Outreach Programme, emphasizing the critical role of faculty in mentoring and supervising the students. He urged the faculty to motivate students to actively participate and contribute meaningfully to the community through their outreach involvement. The meeting was coordinated efficiently by Mr. Selvanathan, Outreach Coordinator for Shift-I, and Mr. Rajkumar, Outreach Coordinator for Shift-II, who assisted in planning and organizing the session. Their efforts ensured smooth communication and participation from faculty across both shifts. Towards the end of the session, Dr. Shanmugam announced the schedule for the student orientation on the Outreach Programme. The orientation for Shift-I students will be held on 3rd July 2025 at 2:30 PM, and for Shift-II students on 4th July 2025 at 10:30 AM. The session concluded with a positive note, encouraging faculty members to extend their wholehearted support in guiding students to make the Outreach Programme an impactful learning experience.
