The PG and Research Department of Management Studies, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, successfully organized a week-long Faculty Development Programme titled “Gen Z 360°: The Generation Reboot — From Clock-In to Catalyst, Rethinking Work, Redefining Success, and Reimagining the Future of Industry” from 21st July to 25th July 2025. This initiative aimed to empower educators to decode the mindset of Generation Z and to align pedagogical approaches with their aspirations, values, and disruptive potential. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members across disciplines and institutions, reaffirming the need for educator up skilling in the age of rapid digital and cultural transformation.
The FDP commenced with a powerful keynote by Rev. Dr. Sajan M George, Chairman of Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Delhi, who addressed the theme “Gen Z Unplugged: Rewiring Work, Purpose, and Power in the New Age of Industry.” On the second day, Dr. D. Vetrivelan, Dean of the School of Business at Marudhar Kesari Jain College for Women (Autonomous), Vaniyambadi, took the audience through an insightful journey into “Work Reimagined: Inside the Bold and Disruptive Mindset of Gen Z.” The third day featured Mr. Maria Antony Juderaj, Senior Manager – HR (Organizational Development) at ELGI Equipments Ltd., Coimbatore, who delivered a practical and industry-oriented session on “Not Just a Job: The Gen Z Revolution in Purpose-Driven Work.” The fourth day of the FDP saw a thought-provoking session by Dr. S. Purushothaman, Associate Professor at Easwari Engineering College, Chennai. His topic, “The Z Code: Cracking the Next Generation’s Blueprint for Work and Life,” unraveled the multilayered expectations of Gen Z concerning career flexibility, mental wellness, work-life balance, and socio-digital impact. The final session on 25th July was delivered by Dr. M. Kaveri, Assistant Professor at Agurchand Manmull Jain College, Chennai. Her session, “CTRL + ALT + Gen Z: Resetting Work for a New Generation,” acted as a reflective culmination of the week’s insights.
The programme was meticulously curated under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, Rector & Secretary, and Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, SDB, Principal & Director of Sacred Heart College. Dr. S. Sasikumar, Head of the PG & Research Department of Management Studies, served as the Convener and Chair, providing academic direction and administrative clarity to the event. The success of the FDP was made possible through the dedicated coordination of Dr. J. Sasiganth and Mr. G. Lawrence, Assistant Professors of the department, who served as the Organizing Secretaries. Their efforts were supported by Mrs. R. Durgavathi, Mr. Y. Joseph Santhosh Kumar, and Mrs. S. Ranjitha, the Organizing Coordinators.
