The Science and Technology Innovation AI Fest '25, held at Sacred Heart College, was a resounding success, drawing over 10,000 students and innovators from across the region. The event was organized to mark the 75th year of starting of the college. In collaboration with the Annamalai Foundation USA and Annamalai Trust, India, with a focus on artificial intelligence, innovation, and sustainable technologies the event was organised.

The highlight of the fest was the presence of Padma Shri Dr. Mylswami Annadurai, renowned space scientist and former ISRO director, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his inspiring keynote address, Dr. Mylswami Annadurai emphasized the transformative role of AI in shaping the future of sectors like space exploration, education, healthcare, and agriculture. His session deeply resonated with attendees and set the tone for a day of learning and innovation.

The event featured 18 technical sessions and panel discussions, led by more than 25 CEOs and industry leaders from top AI companies and startups. Topics ranged from ethical implications of AI to its practical applications in daily life, education, and startups. The discussions provided valuable insights to both budding technologists and educators.

One of the most impactful moments of the fest was the interactive session between Dr. Mylswami Annadurai and 1,700 school students from government and private schools across Tirupattur district. Students engaged in a lively Q&A session, gaining rare insights directly from one of India’s most celebrated scientists. The session was widely praised as the emotional and educational highlight of the fest.

Adding to the excitement, a large-scale Hackathon was conducted with participation from 106 teams representing various colleges and technical institutions. The competition focused on the theme “AI for Social Good and Sustainable Solutions.” The top three teams were awarded cash prizes of ₹1,00,000 for first place, ₹75,000 for second, and ₹50,000 for third, recognizing innovative solutions to real-world challenges through AI-driven approaches.

In addition, a Tech Innovation Expo was held featuring 30 exhibition stalls. These showcased students and industry-led projects involving drone technologies, IoT applications, and a variety of eco-friendly innovations. The expo served as a platform for young innovators to present their work to industry leaders and the broader academic community. Students from 24 schools and 14 colleges actively took part in the sessions and exhibits, making the event a truly inclusive and interdisciplinary celebration of science and technology.

Rev. Fr. Praveen Peter, the secretary of the College, Rev. Fr. Maria Antonyraj, the Principal of the college and Rev. Fr. Theophil Anand, the Additional Principal of the college were honoured and  Rev. Fr. Bharathi Bernadsha, the organizing secretary of the event proposed vote of thanks.

The AI Fest '25 was not just an event, but a movement toward nurturing the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. With strong support from academic institutions and global foundations, the fest has set a new benchmark for educational and technological events in the region. It successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world innovation, inspiring thousands to dream big and think forward.
