The National Nutrition Week Awareness Program was conceived as a dynamic educational initiative to promote holistic well-being through informed dietary choices and lifestyle changes. The event aimed to sensitize students to the critical role of nutrition in physical and mental health while also highlighting the influence of media in shaping public attitudes toward food and lifestyle.

The event was presided over by Mr. N. Madhavan, President, Media Forum Association. The session began with a warm welcome and an insightful address highlighting the role of the media in promoting nutritional awareness. The program featured a series of short presentations and interactive discussions on:

  • The history and objectives of National Nutrition Week
  • Insights from Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2021 and its community impact
  • The importance of timing and content in daily meals
  • Lifestyle factors such as sleep hygiene and mobile usage
  • The role of media in shaping nutritional habits and public health narratives

Chartwork presentations were used to enhance the program’s interactivity and visual appeal, which improved comprehension of the ideas. Students created chartworks that graphically depicted important subjects such as food group classification, nutrient functions, protein utilization, and age-specific dietary requirements.

The session also drew attention to the right practices of eating- what to eat, when to eat, and how to eat– while linking these habits to overall physical and mental well-being. Apart from nutrition, the speaker sensitized students about lifestyle-related practices such as reducing excessive mobile usage, following healthy sleeping patterns, and adopting media as a platform to spread awareness about healthy living.  The session was highly interactive, with students engaging in discussions and visual presentations. The integration of scientific facts with creative expression helped reinforce key messages. The event successfully encouraged participants to adopt healthier eating and lifestyle practices.
