The National Service Scheme (Shift-II) and Red Ribbon Club of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) Tirupattur organised Blood Donation Camp in association with the Government Community Health Centre, Andiyappanur, Tirupattur District on 21st December, 2022 at 10.00 am in OASIS Hall of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur. The programme started with the blessings of Rev. Dr. John Alexander, the Rector and Secretary, Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, the Principal and Rev. Dr. K.A. Maria Arokiaraj, Additional Principal.

         

Dr. Senthil, Deputy Director of Health Service, Tirupattur District, Dr. Soundariya, Block Medical Officer, Andiyappanur, and Dr. Suresh, Medical Officer, Andiyappanur have addressed the gathering and insisted on the importance of blood donation.

 

While addressing to people at the camp our NSS volunteers brought awareness in them about shortage of blood and the need to donate blood every year, to help the persons requiring blood. Blood donation can save lives of innumerable persons. Donation of blood is very critical and crucial for saving lives many patients and those who have met with accidents. It is as such a great service or contribution to the society and people living in need of it.

Rev. Dr. D. Samson Shanmugam, Vice principal (Administration) – Shift II, encouraged all the donors by saying “Gift of Blood is Gift of Life”. He thanked all the donors for the Noble steps they have taken and to help the fellow brethren. Dr. B. Chandrasekar (NSS Programme Officer), Dr. R. Sankar (RRC Incharge) and Mrs. C.S. Kalpana (Counselor of Govt. Community Health Centre) appreciated the donors for their voluntary contribution for the needy people.

 

After the inaugural function, the Medical staff from Government health centre, tested Hemoglobin, Blood Pressure, Pulse Rate, Weight after providing individual counseling to each donor. About 125 volunteers were screened for the Blood Donation Camp and 100 donors donated blood in the camp and it was preserved effectively. At the end of the camp, fruits and refreshment were offered to the donors along with the certificates.
