Regular classes for undergraduate and postgraduate students began on 19^th June, 2023. The Christian students gathered in the college Chapel at 8.30 a.m. for the Holy Mass. Reverend Fathers from the Salesian community, the teaching and non teaching faculty and students joined the liturgical service.

 Rev. Dr. John Alex, the Vice Provincial of Chennai Province, presided over the Holy Eucharistic Services. After the Holy Mass, Rev. Fr. John Alex, blessed and inaugurated the newly constructed canteen Savio Cafe. It was followed by the stage function. The students gathered in the Kamarajar Arangam at 10. a.m.

The inauguration commenced with a prayer service led by Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand, the Vice Principal, Administration, Shift – I. Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, the Secretary and Rector, welcomed the students to the college and introduced the Salesian Community to the students.

The Principal, Rev. Dr. D.  Maria Antony Raj, welcomed and introduced the office bearers of the college administration. Dr. Nahren Manuel, the Research Dean, facilitated the release of books and journals, published by Rev. Fr. Matthew, Spiritual Councillor, Dr. Britto Antony Xavier, Department of Mathematics,           Dr. A. Prabhu, Department of Tamil, and Dr. Niyaz, Department of Bio – Chemistry.

 To acquaint the students with the general rules and regulations of the college, the disciplinary rules were read to the students both in English and Tamil. Dr. Jayabalan, the Dean of Students and Dr. Parthibaraja, Head of the Department of Tamil, read out the rules and regulations of the college.

Rev. Dr. John Alex, Vice Provincial, Chennai, in his address to students, congratulated the management, staff and students for achieving the 42^nd Rank among the colleges in India. He said that God should be placed at the center of our life. God has a plan for everyone, it is important that we work hard to improve and be helpful to the society.

The inauguration concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Dr. A. Merceline Anita, Dean for Women students, and was followed by the college anthem.

The inaugural function was coordinated by Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand, Vice Principal, (Admin, Shift – I) and assisted by Dr. M. Vincent Sahayaraj, Fine Arts Association President (Shift – I).
