The Faculty Orientation Programme for the Academic Year 2023 was organized on 14^th June, 2023. The faculty members with below 13 years of experience (Shift I & II) were oriented in two parallel venues between 9:00 a.m and 4:30 p.m at Pope Francis Hall and Mother Teresa Hall, Bicentenary Building. Rev.Dr.Praveen Peter, Rector, Rev.Dr.D.Maria Antony Raj, Principal and Rev.Dr.K.A.Maria Arokiaraj, Addl. Principal graced the occasion and felicitated the dignitaries.

There were three sessions during the event. The resource person for the first session was Dr. Sevuga Pandian, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science, Kristu Jeyanthi College (Autonomous), Bengaluru. He addressed the gathering on the topic Blended Learning. In his address Dr. Sevuga Pandian elaborated on the impact of blended learning in teaching and learning. He highlighted the various concepts and the methodologies to be practised under blended learning. The second session was addressed by Dr. M.Antony Xavier, Dean- Academics, VIT, Vellore on the topic Outcome Based Education. The resource person emphasized the need and implementation of OBE in higher education. The programme outcomes, course outcomes, programme specific outcomes and the mapping of the above entities were detailed. The third session was addressed by Dr.A.Anthoni Raj, Director, Software Development Center, VIT, Vellore on the topic AI Tools on Education respectively. He demonstrated the usage of software, applications and tools, which could be productively used to enhance teaching and learning. He also gave a gist of free resources available for academic practices. The sessions were interactive and well received by the faculty members.

The event was coordinated by Dr.L.Ravi, Head, Department of Computer Science and Dr. Collins Arun Prakash, Assistant Professor and IQAC Coordinator, Department of Chemistry. The faculty members were provided with refreshments and lunch. About 170 members actively participated in the event.
