Event Details
The Faculty Orientation Programme (All Staff) for the Academic Year 2023 was organized on 15th June, 2023. The faculty members of both the shifts were oriented in two parallel venues between 9:00 a.m and 1:15 p.m at Pope Francis Hall and Mother Teresa Hall, Bicentenary Building respectively.
During the inaugural session Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, Rector, Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, Principal and Rev. Dr. K. A. Maria Arokiaraj, Addl. Principal and Rev. Dr. Theophil Anand, Vice-Principal graced the occasion and welcomed the faculty members for the new academic year 2023-24. The august gathering led by Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, Principal paid homage to the departed souls, who had passed away during the vacation: Mr. Sankaran, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics and the parents of few faculty members by observing silence for a minute. Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, Principal in his address wholeheartedly lauded the management, faculty members, non-teaching staff, students, parents and alumni for attaining the 42nd Rank in NIRF Ranking. He thanked God-the almighty for constantly showering His blessings. He recalled the institution’s progress in NIRF Ranking from the year 2016. He generously acknowledged the role played by various stake holders, especially the faculty members in achieving the milestone. He wished all and the institution to scale new heights in the new academic year 2023-24. Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, the new Rector of the institution, made his maiden speech. He appealed to the gathering to be like Yeast by multiplying and spreading goodness in pursuit of knowledge. He thanked everyone for accepting his leadership and wished all a successful academic year.
There were two sessions during the event. The resource persons were Dr. N.Muthumani, Principal, PPG College of Arts and Science College, Coimbatore and Dr. Gopi, Dean, Product and Consultancy, Muthuyammal Engineering College, Rasipuram respectively. During the first session Dr. N.Muthumani, Principal, PPG College of Arts and Science College, Coimbatore addressed the gathering on Outcome Based Education. She briefed the nuances of OBE. Its principles, techniques and implementation were elaborated. The frame work pertaining to OBE in teaching and evaluation was detailed in a nutshell. During the second session Dr. Gopi, Dean, Product and Consultancy, Muthayammal Engineering College, Rasipuram dealt on the topic IPR: Patent Filing, Copyright Filling, A road Map of the Process. The faculty members were given an in depth understating of IPR, the steps in application process and the process involved in receiving patents. He as an academician shared his personal experience in receiving several patents and copyrights. The sessions were interactive and the resource persons clarified the doubts. The event was coordinated by Dr.L.Ravi, Head, Department of Computer Science and Dr. Collins Arun Prakash, Assistant Professor and IQAC Coordinator, Department of Chemistry. About 200 teaching faculty members across the shifts attended the event.
