The P.G. & Research Department of Economics, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur District, organized an enlightening invited talk on 'AI Tools in Social Science Research.' The collaborative initiative unfolded in partnership with the Xavier Board Platform Institution, Kristu Jayant College (Autonomous), Bengaluru. The event took place on the 30^th January 2024, at the Thanthai Periyar Hall.

Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, delivered the inaugural address, adding an insightful perspective to the significance of AI tools in the realm of social science research. Further accolades were extended by Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, SDB, through a felicitation gesture.

Dr. A. Xavier Susairaj, Head (PG), took the opportunity to honour the esteemed resource person, Dr. K. Vinodha Devi. Additionally, Dr. A. Royal Edward Williams, the organizing secretary of the event, played a pivotal role in introducing and contextualizing the expertise of Dr. K. Vinodha Devi.

Dr. K. Vinodha Devi, in her engaging and informative invited lecture titled 'AI Tools in Social Science Research,' delved into the practical applications of tools such as Litmap, Sourcely, Paper Pal, Mendeley, Zotero, Grammarly, and Quill Bot. She expounded on the manifold benefits of incorporating AI tools in social science research, emphasizing how these tools can enrich the academic experience for students venturing into research. Furthermore, Dr. Vinodha Devi shed light on the potential employment opportunities that emerge from acquiring a profound understanding of research methodologies in the specified area of focus. The session heightened awareness about AI tools and also served as a motivational catalyst for students contemplating research endeavours.  The collective efforts of all participants, from the distinguished speakers to the diligent organizers and the enthusiastic audience, contributed to the success of this intellectually stimulating session.
