The Murphy Memorial Cricket Tournament was held on 17^th July, 2024 keeping alive the memory of Rev. Fr. Murphy SDB, the former Principal of Sacred Heart College. The II PG students of Murphy Hostel were the organisers of this prestigious Cricket Tournament under the guidance of Fr. John Borg SDB, the Director. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Sagayaraj, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Director of Master of Computer Applications. He underlined the importance of Sports activities and the great legacy of Rev. Fr. Murphy.  The tournament witnessed spirited battle between 12 teams. In the finals, Murphy A team emerged as the champions. Rev. Fr. Maria Arokiaraj SDB, the Additional Principal, and Dr. L. Ravi, the Vice-Principal for Academics (Shift -I) were the chief guests for the valediction ceremony. The dignitaries congratulated the winning team and appreciated the efforts of all participants and organisers in making the tournament a resounding success. They highlighted the significance of such events in nurturing a spirit of healthy competition and promoting physical fitness among the students. Trophies and cash prizes were distributed to the winners.
