Event Details

The Department of Extension Education and Services (DEEDS) of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, in collaboration with Don Bosco Social Action and Research Centre, Don Bosco Siharam, TV Malai, organized a youth-focused event titled The role of Youth in Poverty Alleviation and Personality Development from the Gypsy, Thrumbar and Irular Communities on the 14th of May 2025. The programme took place at the Don Bosco Centre, Tirupattur, with the aim of empowering young individuals through resilience-building and vocational skill development sessions. The day began at 10:00 am with registration and tea, setting a warm and welcoming tone for the participants.

The formal sessions commenced at 10:30 am, led by Rev. Dr. Shanmugam SDB, who addressed the gathering and shared inspiring insights aligned with the theme of resilience and youth empowerment. Following him, Mr. J. Vinoth took the stage at 10:40 am, delivering a thought-provoking session, likely centered on vocational development and youth engagement. At 11:00 am, Mr. Y. Anand Jeya Prakash contributed with an impactful presentation or workshop, further enriching the participants' knowledge and motivation.

The programme continued until 12:30 pm with Mr. Benjamin & Co., who engaged the youth with a dynamic and interactive segment. After a short break, the final session before lunch was handled by Fr. Christopher, Director DBSARC wrapping up the day’s learning and experiential sharing. The event concluded with lunch at 1:30 pm followed by departure, leaving the youth inspired and better equipped to face personal and professional challenges.
