On 03/07/2025 at 9:30 AM All India Catholic University Federation Organized an orientation for the students of AICUF at the State level. Trainers from Lyola college Mr. J. Ranjith Roy and I. Bousty Vincy oriented the session. The program began with a formal inauguration ceremony, setting a tone of unity and purpose for the day.

Dr. G. Mohan Gandhi, Department of Tamil, delivered the keynote Address on the theme “Destruction of Nature, is a Destruction of the World; Protection of Nature” An insightful talk on environmental issues emphasized how the destruction of nature leads to the downfall of humanity. Students were encouraged to take responsibility for preserving the earth. A warm welcome was extended to all students and dignitaries, highlighting the vision and values of AICUF.

A basic introduction was given about AICUF, its mission to uplift the marginalized and foster social justice through student engagement. The historical background of AICUF was explained, including its formation, growth, and its focus on empowering Dalits, tribals, women, and transgenders. AICUF currently functions in 14 states and more than 60 colleges in Tamil Nadu, with over 100 years of service. AICUF operates at unit, zonal, state, and national levels. Leaders are democratically elected by students, encouraging leadership and accountability. Members gain leadership skills, exposure through cultural training, receive certificates, and actively participate in social development. Key topics discussed included Dalit issues, student rallies, drug abuse among youth, and women empowerment. Students shared perspectives and solutions. Participants were given time to have lunch and relax. Games and Activities. Interactive games were conducted to build unity and engagement among students in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

 Difficulties such as financial struggles, academic pressure, and lack of support were discussed. Suggestions were made to overcome these barriers. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and an encouragement to actively participate in AICUF’s mission for social change.
