Event Details
Department of Extension Education and Services at Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, organized an “Orientation and Planning of Outreach Programme” for Shift–II on 4th July 2025 (Friday) from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Kamarajar Arangam. The event began with a prayer in the form of a video song, setting a reflective and enthusiastic tone. Prof. G. Rajkumar, Coordinator of the Department of Commerce (Shift–II), delivered the welcome address and extended warm greetings to the dignitaries and participants. Rev. Dr. Shanmugam, SDB, Director of Outreach, Sacred Heart College, delivered the inaugural address, elaborating on the significance and objectives of the outreach programme. This was followed by the presidential address by Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, SDB, Rector and Secretary of Sacred Heart College, who emphasized the institution’s commitment to rural development. Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand, SDB, Additional Principal of SHC, offered words of felicitation, motivating students and faculty to contribute to the society at large.
The technical sessions began with a presentation by Dr. K. Arokiaraj from the Department of Social Work (Shift–I), who spoke on the topic “Projects and Programmes in Rural Areas,” providing insightful perspectives and practical approaches. The second session focused on the planning and preparation aspects of the outreach programme, ensuring the participants understood the steps involved in effective implementation of outreach programme in the villages. Mrs. S. Archana, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science (Shift–II), proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the speakers, organizers, and attendees for their participation and contributions. The programme concluded with the singing of the college anthem. The entire event was effectively coordinated by the Master of Ceremonies, Dr. A. P. Angeline Mary.
