Event Details

The Inauguration of the Associations and Investiture of the Office Bearers (Shift I) was held on 14th July 2025 at 10:45 a.m. in Kamarajar Arangam. The programme was organised to formally induct the newly elected student leaders and to set the tone for the activities of the various academic associations for the year.

The event began with a solemn procession, followed by the singing of the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The Prayer Service and Investiture of the Office Bearers was conducted by Rev. Fr. S. Xavier Raj, SDB, Campus Minister, who invoked blessings of the Lord.

The Welcome Address, Felicitation, and Honouring of the Chief Guest were delivered by Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, Principal of the College. He extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries, staff, and students. A significant moment of the ceremony was the Release of the Books “Shakespeare Pearls by Rev. Fr. Adukanil Matthew, SDB, Mooch by The Chief Guest Dr. R. Anandakumar, I.A.S., Commissioner of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (Training), Chennai, enriching the college’s academic contributions.

 

Following this, a visual Presentation of the Activities for 2025–2026 was made by Rev. Fr. S. Henry Daniel Ambrose, SDB, Vice Principal (Administration), he outlined the planned programmes and initiatives for the academic year.

 

            The Chief Guest Address was delivered by Dr. R. Anandakumar, I.A.S., Commissioner of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (Training), Chennai, who inspired the audience with his remarks on leadership and service. The Chief Guest was interactive and answered many of the questions posed by the students.

The formal proceedings were complemented by Cultural Events, including a Medley by the College Choir and a Tamil Folk Dance performed by students of the MSW Department (Aided), celebrating the college’s vibrant cultural life.

The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Mr. V. Madhan Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of English, expressing gratitude to all contributors and participants. Finally, the College Anthem was sung, marking the end of a memorable and meaningful inauguration ceremony.
