The Women Cell (Shift I) in collaboration with PG and Research Department of Biochemistry conducted a Special Awareness Programme on “Empower Through Asanas -Yoga for Mind, Body & Soul” on 17thJuly, 2025 from 2 PM to 4 PM in the Viktor Frankl Auditorium. The event began with a prayer song. The gathering including Resource Persons, Deans, Faculty members and the students were warmly welocomed by Dr. K. Sheela, Assistant Professor, Dept.of Biochemistry. The felicitation address was delivered by Dr. A. Merceline Anita, Dean of Women Students, Shift I, who emphasised the importance of Yoga. Dr. A. Poongothai, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry introduced the Resource Persons of the program Mrs. D.Tamilarasi and Mrs. S. Geetha, Professors in SKY YOGA.
The Resource Persons delivered an insightful and enriching session aimed to highlight the transformative power of yoga, focusing on achieving holistic well-being through the practice of Asanas. Participants were guided through a series of physical postures designed to strengthen the body, calm the mind and uplift the spirit. The instructors emphasized the importance of balance between physical health and mental peace, integrating traditional yoga techniques with practical insights from Sky Yoga. The session was well-received by attendees, who reported feeling rejuvenated, relaxed and more connected to their inner selves. Through this event, the Resource Persons successfully conveyed the essence of yoga as a tool not just for fitness, but for personal empowerment and spiritual harmony. Mrs. J. Reshma Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of the organizing team and the enthusiastic participants of the Yoga program. The programme concluded with the College Anthem, reinforcing a sense of unity and pride among the attendees. Miss J. Manthra, III B. Sc. Biochemistry served as the Master of Ceremony, ensuring the smooth flow of events throughout the session.
