The All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) – Shift-II unit of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, organized a “Street Play Training Camp” on the 19th and 20th of August, 2025, at the DB Center Hall. The program was arranged under the guidance of the Programme Officers: Mrs. C. Elavarasi, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Mr. Kamesh U., Assistant Professor of English.

Mr. Kamesh U. Vice President of the AICUF (Shift – II) welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person Mr. Ranjith, Full-time AICUFer – Tamil Nadu Animator from Loyola House, Chennai, conducted the sessions. The resource person began the training with an orientation on AICUF, highlighting its history, purpose, and mission of serving society through students’ active participation in socio-cultural and community-based activities. He emphasized the role of AICUF members in bringing social awareness, justice, and solidarity, particularly through creative forms of communication such as street plays.

Following the orientation, Mr. Ranjith engaged the participants in street play training. He introduced the fundamentals of street theatre, including body language, voice modulation, rhythm, team coordination, and audience interaction. Students were given practical exercises to enhance their performance skills and to understand how street plays can serve as a powerful medium for spreading awareness on social issues.

The sessions were highly interactive, combining theoretical insights with hands-on practice. Participants gained confidence in performing before an audience and learned how to use theatre as a tool for education, social critique, and transformation.

The program concluded with positive feedback from participants. Mrs. C. Elavarasi, President of the AICUF (Shift- II) proposed the Vote of Thanks.
