The Department of Life Education organized a Drug Awareness Programme on the topic “Say Nope to Dope”, for all the I UG students of both the shifts on 20^th August, 2025. For better participation and learning, students were divided into 3 groups. Rev. Fr. Amala Vinoth, the Director of Arutkaram De-Addiction Center, Jawadhi Hills, Rev. Fr. Cruz Robert, the Assistant Director and Mr. Y. Anand Jeya Prakash, Asst. Professor & Skill Trainer, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) were the resource persons. During the first session students were given knowledge and awareness about different drugs, substance and alcohol addiction. The speaker explained in detail about the prevalence of drug and alcohol addiction with facts and figures. They insisted that “Prevention is Better than Cure” with regard to drug abuse. In the second session all the students gathered in Kamarajar Arangam for a discussion on current issues and to clarify their doubts about alcohol, drug & substance use. About 1320 students benefited from this seminar. In the valedictory function Rev. Dr. Shanmugam, the Vice Principal Admin Shift - II, honored the resource persons with a shawl. He also thanked the resource persons for a meaningful awareness seminar. The organizing team Mr. Y Anand Jeya Prakash (Coordinator), Mr. J. Jintha & Mr. Pratap Pavan Kumar were also present for the seminar.
